Beware of this ‘security’ October 23, 2006

Well, well I see that now that it’s not just good enough to have an RFID chip in your passport, soon to be in your license, money, credit cards and things you buy. But now, travelers soon will be electronically tagged inside airports as an attempt at safety.
Wrist bands or boarding passes with RFID chips inside will be emitting a unique ID that is cross-referenced to the passenger information already on the system that will allow authorities to track passenger movement around terminal buildings.
Dr. Paul Brennan, an electronic engineer at University College London who is leading work on the EU-funded Optag system, said it would combine high resolution panoramic video imaging with radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to enhance airport security, safety and efficiency.
“It would work if each passenger were issued with a tag, which could allow location to about one metre accuracy,” he said. “The video and tag data can be merged to give a very powerful surveillance capability.”
As an attempt to make this a good thing the excuse was given by Dr. Brennan that “It can allow precise tracking of individuals if they seem to be a security risk of any sort…” and “It can provide rapid location of lost children.” This always seems to come into play when they are talking about tagging people (aymbt.com).
So let me ask you this. What terrorist is going to allow themselves to have a chip so they can be tracked? Am I the only one who sees this?
Let’s not even bring a terrorist into this. Say a kidnapper takes a child at the airport, do you think they are going to keep that tag on that child?
I hate to bring an “End-Times” comment to this article but, I can see it. Since it is costing us millions in replacement RFID tags, we have decided to pass law making it a mandatory implant. We can’t keep spending money on people who are not responsible and loose their tags. Wouldn’t that be straight out of the Bible?
A trial of the system will be carried out in Hungary later this year, and could be developed for commercial use within a few years. This may seem far away but take this as a warning.
With all the security being implemented in the name of safety of our children, how far can the tracking of humans, not just Americans, but humans be pushed before something breaks?
